The World as I Know it Right Now – an update

Have you ever looked at a blank screen and wondered “what am I going to write”?  Yeah, that’s where I am right now.  Not because I don’t have anything to write about, but because I don’t know where to start.  There have been a lot of changes and things that have come about that I don’t know how to pack them into a post.  Ok, let’s start with the most significant one first.

I’ve become Christian. – I officially got saved in the beginning of August and was baptized in October.   My family were rather accepting over it, since I came from a family of Buddhists, it was an interesting conversation.  All in all, as long as I’m not in a cult, they’re happy.  Then again, I was converted through Joel Osteen, and some people consider his church almost cult-like, but it’s not: seriously.  Since this change, I’ve found myself “thrown” into my new Christian lifestyle, participating in worship team, becoming a leader to a Christian based acting workshop, participating in small groups, getting involved in prophetic worship, and being directed to minister to prophesize over people.  Yes, I understand it’s only February.  I have to admit though, I’ve seen quiet a lot transpire in these last few months being Christian and actually living my faith, and we’re not talking small stuff either.  People getting healed from stuff like stage 4 cancer, the wheelchair bound walking for the first time in 15 years, financial abundance coming out of nowhere, new companies being started, and if it wasn’t for the fact that I’ve met these people, I’d be suspicious.

Because of my current journey, I’m writing a book.  It’s a work in progress.

Let me know if you’re curious about my walk with Christ.  No pressure.

Got a J.O.B. – If you’ve been following me on twitter, you know that I got a job now working not in music, but in television.  Didn’t see that one coming.  I found out I got the job after coming out of a taping of Wendy Williams.  It was also the same day I found out my grandfather in Taiwan had passed away (from Cancer).  There was a lot of conflicting feelings going on that day.  My grandfather was ill for some time, so I see his passing as a way he was able to be free from the pain he was coping with.

I’m Shrinking – So since the Summer, I’ve dropped two dress sizes.  The weight has stayed relatively the same, however fitting into clothing sizes that you hadn’t fitted into since before my junior year of high school is pretty awesome.  I still have some more size and weight to drop, but it’s a good direction and a good sign that things are boding well.  Not going to argue.

Two off the bucket list – Before this Thanksgiving, I’d never been to Florida, which means I’d never been to DisneyWorld.  Thanks to an old friend (Rose), I got to visit both Disney & Hogsmeade in one trip.  I got to be a kid and walk through Cinderella’s Castle and got to walk through Hogwarts.  Yes, two different theme parks and I wouldn’t have traded the time I had for anything.

The Voice – I’m auditioning for The Voice again this Saturday at 7AM.  A part of me is excited and a part of me is calm.  Actually I’m calmer than I ever had been before.  If you’ve seen the new ads, you know that Christina and CeeLo are out, being replaced by Usher and Shakira this season.  I’m going into this with the “whatever happens, happens”, but of course, I want in.  Tomorrow I’m having an open practice session.  Yes, it is Valentine’s Day, but unless I get a miracle date, which may happen, I’m spending my Valentine’s Day practicing at Pulse and singing before I put myself on vocal rest.

I’m Married – Eventually.  I need to be involved with the right man first.  Sorry if I gave any of you a small heart attack there.  Thought I’d add that one in there because it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow.

Just as an aside…  Is it me or has this week been insane with holidays?

Sunday – Chinese New Year
Tuesday – Fat Tuesday (end of Mardi Gras)
Wednesday – Ash Wednesday (1st day of Lent)
Thursday – Valentine’s Day
Monday – President’s Day

If you throw in the fact that the Pope also decided to step down from the papacy on Monday, I’d say it’s been a pretty full week.

In any case, I hope you enjoy your Valentine’s Day/Chinese New Year/Lent/Mardi Gras, and as mentioned, you’re more than welcome to stop by at Pulse Karaoke tomorrow night, if you don’t have any other plans.

Love you.
