Taking Steps: Day 29 – Not Going By What I See

I suspect this is going to sound pretty dumb for quite a few of you, but sometimes it’s the dumbest things that prove to be the most effective.

I got a heath screening today.  Most of my numbers were fine for the exception of one.  Ok, three, but they all relate to the same thing, essentially.

In any which case, because these three numbers were abnormally high, and not in a positive way, I’m obviously going to do something about it, however, I’m not going to focus on the reasons that prompted me, but instead focus on the work that needs to be done for my overall health.

The reason why I’m not going to focus on the threat, or the outcome, if I choose not to make those changes, has bearing in three pieces of scripture:

What I feared has come upon me;
what I dreaded has happened to me.
I have no peace, no quietness;
I have no rest, but only turmoil.”

-Job 3:25-26 (NIV)

and

Be careful what you think,
because your thoughts run your life.

-Proverbs 4:23 (NCV)

lastly…

The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.

-Proverbs 18:21 (NIV)

It’s pretty straight forward.  Changes are going to be made for the sake of better health and living, but not focusing on the outcome if these changes aren’t met.

Time to do some research on WebMD.
