Taking Steps: Day 25 – It’s All About Balance

Going to make this short and sweet right now, to keep with the title of this post.

I have a headache right now.  It was most likely brought on by me not drinking enough water today while going for a 6.2 mile walk.  I bought myself a bottle of water to keep myself hydrated while I was out there, but admittedly, 4 glasses of water for the entire day was not nearly enough.

…and I have my playing of video games and watching “Undercover Boss” on netflix to thank as to why this post is being written at 1:30AM on a Sunday morning when I know I have to be at church in a few hours.  At least I did get my nightly reading done.

This just goes to show you how out of balance I presently am.

The wonderful thing about balance is, it can be corrected.  You know you’re out of balance when things seem to be out of whack.  It is true what they say: “Too much of a good thing can be bad for you”.  This can be with anything, but especially with life.  If you focus too much on one thing, inevitably something will suffer, whether it be family, business, finance, or personal health.  Once that cog breaks, is when most folks start paying attention, but the goal isn’t to be running from one fire to another, but maintaining everything so that the fire never starts, and the machine continues to run the way it should: in perfect condition.

Is your life balanced?  What are you focusing too much on, and what’s suffering in the process?  How can you correct is, so that everything does balance out?  If you choose to continue to neglect it, are you willing to lose/irrevocably damage that aspect of your life, knowing that it will trickle to all the other aspects of your life as well?

Nothing is completely sectioned off in life.  It all runs on a domino effect.  If one part falls, inevitably the rest will also.
